Countertops on Sanibel Island, FL

Sanibel homes face sun, humidity and salt air, and many have been repaired or rebuilt since Hurricane Ian in 2022. HB Marble & Granite fabricates and installs granite, quartz, quartzite and marble countertops for Sanibel kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor kitchens, with slab selection at our Fort Myers showroom across the causeway.

Rebuilds & renovations

Rebuilds and Renovations

When a home is being rebuilt or restored, countertops are one of the last pieces. Templating works best once cabinets are installed, level and secured, so it helps to bring us in while the cabinet order is being finalized. That way the slab can be chosen and reserved before the cabinets arrive.

Indoor and outdoor matching

Choosing stones for the kitchen and lanai together keeps the look consistent.

Stone Near the Gulf

For outdoor kitchens and lanais, granite and quartzite are the usual natural-stone choices, though some colors can fade after years of direct sun, and porcelain or Dekton is made for full sun. Standard quartz generally isn’t recommended for direct, prolonged sun. Honed or leathered finishes can cut glare. Our outdoor kitchen countertops page covers sealing and layout details.

Questions

Sanibel Countertop FAQs

Another question about sanibel? Call the showroom and talk to someone who works with the stone every day.

Can you work with my builder on a rebuild?

Yes. We can coordinate templating with your contractor’s cabinet schedule.

Which stone is best for an outdoor kitchen on the island?

Granite and quartzite hold up well outdoors, though some colors can fade in direct sun, and porcelain or Dekton is made for full sun. Ask us about finishes that reduce glare.

Do I need to come to the showroom?

Choosing the slab in person is best, but you can start with photos and your cabinet plan.
