Countertops in Punta Gorda, FL

Punta Gorda sits on Charlotte Harbor, and many of its homes face a canal or the water, with kitchens that open to a lanai. HB Marble & Granite fabricates and installs granite, quartz, quartzite and marble countertops for Punta Gorda kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor kitchens, with slab selection at our showroom in Fort Myers.

Choosing Stone for a Home on the Water

Humidity and a kitchen that gets daily use both shape which stone makes sense. A few points help narrow the choice before you visit the showroom:

01

Granite

A hard natural stone that handles heat well and runs from soft grays to dramatic dark slabs. It needs periodic sealing, and our granite countertops guide covers care.

02

Quartz

Engineered, consistent from slab to slab and never sealed. It suits busy kitchens and baths, but it is not meant for direct, prolonged sun. See quartz countertops.

03

Quartzite

A natural stone with flowing, light veining and a very hard surface. Sealing needs vary by slab, so ask when you pick one. See quartzite countertops.

04

Marble

A classic for a primary bath or vanity. It etches with acids, so many owners choose a honed finish. See marble countertops.

Updates and rebuilds

Updating or Rebuilding a Home

If your Punta Gorda kitchen or bath is part of a larger renovation, countertops come near the end of the schedule. We template once the cabinets are in, so talking with us while the cabinet order is still open lets you settle on stone early.

  • Working with a contractorShare the install schedule, and send us your plans through the contact form. Trade partners can start on our contractors page.
  • Sink and cooktop picksHave the models chosen before templating, since they set the cutouts.
  • Seam placementAsk where seams will land on long runs before anything is cut.

Lanai Kitchens and Outdoor Bars

Homes near the harbor and along the canals often have a covered lanai with a grill or a bar top. For an outdoor bar or grill counter, ask us how each material handles years of direct sun; porcelain or Dekton is made for full sun, and a honed finish softens glare off the water. See outdoor kitchen countertops for options.

Process

From Our Showroom to Punta Gorda

Start at our showroom at 11741 Metro Pkwy in Fort Myers, where you can see full slabs before you decide. Because the drive is part of the trip, we suggest bringing photos of your space, your cabinet layout and your sink and cooktop models, so one visit can cover both your stone and your edge choice. You can also ask for your free estimate while you’re here. After that, we template at your Punta Gorda home, you approve the layout, and we fabricate and install on site, with about 10 business days from templating to installation. The fabrication and installation page walks through each step, and the service areas page shows where else we work, including nearby Port Charlotte.

Questions

Punta Gorda Countertop FAQs

Another question about Punta Gorda? Call the showroom and talk to someone who works with the stone every day.

Do you serve Punta Gorda?

Yes. Our showroom is in Fort Myers, and we template, fabricate and install for homeowners in Punta Gorda and across Charlotte County.

What stone holds up best on a lanai?

Porcelain and Dekton are made for full sun. Granite and quartzite work in many covered lanais, but some colors can fade in direct sun, and standard quartz is not recommended for prolonged direct sun.

Do I have to come to the showroom first?

Seeing a full slab in person is the best way to choose, and you can stop by during open hours. If you want to start from home, send photos and your cabinet layout through the contact form.

Can you work with my builder or contractor?

Yes. Share the install schedule and we will plan the template visit for after the cabinets are in.
