Stone Colors and Slabs

Choosing stone colors is the most personal part of a countertop project, and it’s the part a photo can’t settle for you. This page helps you narrow your options by material and color family, so you arrive at our showroom knowing what to look for.

Browse Stone Colors by Material

Use the catalog below to filter by granite, quartz, quartzite, marble and porcelain. The photos are product photos from our suppliers and the makers (Viatera, Teracanto and Dekton). Each material has its own character: natural stones show movement and variation, while quartz offers a more consistent, predictable color. Porcelain and Dekton come in their own color ranges, from marble looks to concrete and solid tones; see our porcelain page and ask which colors we can show you.

Why You Should See the Actual Slab

Natural stone varies from slab to slab and even from lot to lot. Two pieces sold under the same name can differ in background tone, vein direction and mineral flecking. A catalog photo or small sample shows you the idea, but a full slab shows you how the pattern really moves across a large surface. That’s why we recommend choosing from the slab itself. Our layout review then shows you how the pattern will fall on your own cabinets.

Lighting

How Lighting Changes Color

A stone that looks warm under showroom lights can look cooler by a bright south-facing window and different again under evening kitchen lighting. When you’re deciding, look at the slab in daylight if you can, and think about your own lighting, paint and cabinet color. Polished and honed finishes also change how light plays across the surface.

Samples vs. slabs

Samples vs. Full Slabs

Samples are useful for checking color next to your cabinet door, flooring and backsplash tile. Use them to rule options in or out, then confirm the final choice on the full slab. If you’re working with a designer, you can bring them along.

Questions

Color Questions

Another question about stone colors? Call the showroom and talk to someone who works with the stone every day.

What color granite never goes out of style?

Neutral granites in soft whites, greys, beiges and black are the safest long-term choices, because they work with many cabinet and paint colors. Subtle movement tends to age better than very busy patterns. Your cabinets, flooring and lighting should guide the final call.

What are the countertop color trends for 2026?

We’re seeing continued interest in soft white and grey tones with natural veining, warm neutrals, and bolder statement stones used on islands. Trends change, so choose a stone you’ll enjoy living with, not only one that’s popular this year.

Which color of granite is best?

There’s no single best color. The right one depends on your cabinets, flooring, lighting and how much pattern you like. Lighter stones show less dust and water spots, while darker stones can show them more, so consider daily upkeep as well as looks.
