New construction

Countertops for Home Builders

A new-construction schedule has a lot of moving parts, and stone has to land at the right moment: after cabinets, before final plumbing and paint. HB Marble & Granite supplies fabricated and installed granite, quartz and quartzite countertops for builders putting up spec homes, custom homes and multi-home communities across Southwest Florida.

Scope

Surfaces Throughout the Home

New homes use stone in more places than most people count:

01

Kitchens and islands

The main selection, and usually the one buyers care about most.

02

Primary and guest baths

Vanity tops, plus shower curbs and benches where specified.

03

Laundry and utility rooms

Counters over cabinets, sometimes with a sink.

04

Wet bars and butler’s pantries

Often in the same stone as the kitchen or a contrasting accent.

05

Outdoor kitchens

Common in Florida homes, where granite, quartzite or porcelain usually works best.

Selections

Buyer Selections at the Showroom

Buyers are happier when they pick from full slabs instead of a brochure. Send them to our Fort Myers showroom to walk the selection with someone who knows the material and doesn’t push upgrades. We can help you organize a standard range of stones and an upgrade tier for each house, and you can browse stones on the colors page. Pricing is discussed directly with you for each build, not published here.

Scheduling

Templating Timed to Cabinet Install

For stone to fit, the cabinets need to be set and level. We template at the home once cabinets are in, then review the layout with your buyer or site team before cutting, so seams, overhangs and veining are settled up front. Details such as sink and range models should be final by then. Our installation process explains each step.

Production builders and custom builders run differently, so we adjust. A custom home may need slab-by-slab selections, mixed stones and detailed edges. A multi-unit build values repeatable selections and clear communication with your superintendent. Either way, tell us your sequence and we’ll talk through scheduling. We don’t promise timelines before we know the job.

Questions

Builder FAQs

Another question about builders? Call the showroom and talk to someone who works with the stone every day.

Do you work with spec and custom builders?

Yes. Spec builders usually want a defined set of stone options, while custom builders often need slab-level selections with their buyers. Contact us with your plan and we’ll set up the right approach.

How do I get stone options for my buyers?

Send buyers to the showroom to see slabs in person, or contact us to talk about a standard and upgrade range for your community.

What do you need to scope a new build?

Floor plans or cabinet drawings, a list of rooms receiving stone, your preferred materials, and the sink and cooktop models if chosen.
