Granite and Quartz Countertops in Cape Coral, FL

Cape Coral has a lot of kitchens that were fine for their era and are quietly asking for more now: single-story ranch homes on canals, peninsula layouts, laminate or tile tops. HB Marble & Granite fabricates and installs granite, quartz, quartzite and marble countertops for Cape Coral kitchens, bathrooms and lanai bars. We are a family-owned shop with 20+ years in Southwest Florida, and we cut and finish the stone ourselves in our Fort Myers shop.

Ranch kitchens

Updating a Canal-Era Ranch Kitchen

Older Cape Coral kitchens often have a wall between the cook and the family room, a standard-height backsplash and a peninsula that eats floor space. A new counter is usually less about adding square footage than making the room read as open. The decisions that matter most:

  • Slab size and seamsA long run along one wall or a larger island may need a bigger slab or a seam. We show you where the seam lands before anything is cut.
  • Backsplash heightRunning the stone up the wall, even just to the cabinet bottoms, changes the whole kitchen.
  • Sink choiceAn undermount sink needs a precise cutout, so have the model picked before templating.
  • Old topsAsk us about removing your existing counters as part of the plan.

Many Cape Coral homes were rebuilt or renovated after Hurricane Ian in 2022, so the cabinets are sometimes new while the counters are not. When the cabinets are already set, level and secured, the template visit goes quickly.

Granite and quartz

Granite or Quartz for a Cape Coral Kitchen

Most Cape Coral homeowners we talk with start with one question: granite or quartz. Both work well here, and the right one depends on how you cook, clean and entertain.

01

Granite

Natural stone with real variation from slab to slab, good with heat and everyday wear. It needs sealing from time to time, which suits owners who like to look after a surface. See our granite countertops page for care and color families.

02

Quartz

Engineered for a consistent color and pattern, and it doesn’t need sealing, which many busy households prefer. Our quartz countertops page covers heat limits and why it isn’t our choice for full sun.

03

Quartzite

A natural stone with soft, marble-like movement for people who want that look on a harder surface. Read the quartzite countertops page before you choose a slab.

04

Seeing the slab

Photos can’t show how veining or flecks fall across a whole island. Choose in person at our Fort Myers showroom, then we take it from there.

Lanai counters

The Lanai Counter Question

Outdoor kitchen · HB project

An outdoor kitchen or lanai bar in Cape Coral sees sun, humidity and, depending on your street, salt in the air. Some of the city’s canals are tidal and open to the Gulf, while others are freshwater, so exposure differs from block to block. Granite, quartzite and porcelain or Dekton slabs are the usual choices outdoors, though some natural-stone colors can fade after years of direct sun, and porcelain and Dekton are made for full sun. Standard quartz generally isn’t recommended for direct, prolonged sun because the resin can discolor. Honed finishes can cut glare. Our outdoor kitchen countertops page goes deeper on cutouts and overhangs.

Cape Coral

Across the Cape

Cape Coral is big, and its parts feel different. The Southeast and Southwest Cape have many established canal-front homes, the Yacht Club area and Cape Harbour bring marina-style living, the Pelican area sits between them, and the Northwest Cape toward Burnt Store Road has many newer homes. These are areas we serve; they are not a list of past jobs. Some neighborhoods have homeowner or condo associations with rules for contractors, work hours and deliveries, so check yours early and pass it along. If you are just east of the city line, our page for countertops in North Fort Myers covers that side, and across the river, our Fort Myers countertops page is the place to start.

Process

How a Project Runs From Cape Coral

You pick your slab at our showroom at 11741 Metro Pkwy in Fort Myers. Next, someone visits your home to template the cabinets with digital templating, and you approve the layout, seams and veining before cutting. We fabricate in our own shop, then install at your house. Our standard timeline is 10 business days from templating to installation. Our fabrication and installation page shows each step, and the service areas page shows how the same steps apply from Naples to Sarasota.

Questions

Cape Coral Countertop FAQs

Another question about Cape Coral? Call the showroom and talk to someone who works with the stone every day.

What is the best countertop for a Cape Coral kitchen?

It depends on how you cook and clean. Granite handles heat and everyday wear, quartz gives uniform color with no sealing, and quartzite gives a natural, marble-like look. Seeing full slabs helps you decide.

Granite or quartz: which is better on a canal-front lanai?

For direct sun, granite, quartzite, or porcelain and Dekton are the usual picks. Standard quartz is the exception outdoors because prolonged sun can discolor the resin. Inside the house, either works.

Do canal-front homes need anything special for installation?

Mostly clear access. Tell us about steps, gates, narrow side yards or association rules so slabs can be carried in safely and the visit fits any work-hour limits.

How long does a Cape Coral countertop project take?

Our standard timeline is 10 business days from templating to installation, once the cabinets are set and you have approved the layout.

Do I have to visit the showroom?

Visiting is the best way to choose a slab, but you can start by sharing photos and your cabinet layout with us.
